Travertine and marbles
Among the materials of the Naturpiedra range, marbles and travertines could not be missing. These materials have always been synonymous with quality, luxury and distinction, used since ancient times as ornamental rock, in the noble areas of the most prestigious buildings, as for example most of the monuments and churches of ancient Rome are built with travertine and marble.
Travertine is the name of a sedimentary rock, formed by calcium carbonate deposits (e.g. calcite, aragonite and limonite), in parallel layers with small cavities or caves (typical in all travertine), with light colours: yellow, brown, white; and with a soft and pleasant appearance.
Marble is a compact metamorphic rock, formed from limestone rocks that, when subjected to high temperature and pressure, reach a high degree of crystallisation. This marked crystallisation of its minerals gives marble a high level of natural shine after polishing by abrasion; and despite its great hardness, it can be moulded with the appropriate tools. Composed mainly of calcium carbonate, marbles can be found in a great diversity of colours, veining and shades. They offer a wide variety of decorative solutions. Besides being widely used in construction, it is also widely used for decoration and sculpture, thanks to the characteristics described above.
Thanks to the experience acquired through the numerous works carried out with marble and travertine by Naturpiedra’s installation teams, we offer a wide range of this type of products, from national and imported collaborating quarries. We offer tiles with different finishes (polished, aged with abrasive brush or drum, honed, bush-hammered), which adapt to all types of installation: exterior and interior cladding and flooring, ventilated façades; highlighting their use in special environments such as bathrooms, entrance halls, stairs, countertops or beaches and pool surrounds. Works that implement the quality of its finishes with the elegant touch of marble or travertine.
