San Sebastián, one of the most beautiful cities in Spain, undertook in 2006the remodeling of one of its most emblematic areas: the environment that surrounds the Victoria Eugenia Theater and the Hotel Maria Cristina, next to Urumea
river.

This action affected the Okendo and Santa Catalina Square and the streets República Argentina and Okendo, areas that, as they necessarily suffered works due to the required rehabilitation and expansion of the Okendo car park; it was used to carry out its redevelopment.

The execution was carried out by Moyua, one of the most reputed Basque construction companies, with the premises of the project created by Aitzpea Lazkano of Isuuru Arquitectos and under the technical assistance of the municipal works director, Alfonso Vázquez.

In this project, it was proposed to replace the Miranda gravel tile, existing then, with natural stone tiles of two tones, one in beige tones in the whole area and another in a darker tone in the contour of the Theater, the Hotel and the gardens.

For these two materials they counted the materials proposed by Naturpiedra, the clearest model was Sabana in 50x30x4 cm format. and the darker Filita Gris, in sawn finish and 60x40x3 cm format. Materials that maintain the architectural spirit of the Belle Epoque, a hallmark of the city.

As a curiosity, we can see how this flooring serves as a red carpet for the leading figures of the seventh art, who attend the San Sebastián Film Festival every year. Where it is tradition that they go to the adjoining Kursaal Auditorium, headquarters of the Festival, walking from the luxurious Hotel Maria Cristina, where their accommodation is provided.
