From 22 to 25 September, Verona once again became the international meeting point for the natural stone industry with the 60th edition of Marmomac.
For Naturpiedra, taking part in this trade fair once again has meant much more than presenting a selection of our products. It has been an opportunity to meet customers, distributors, architects, landscape professionals and specialists from all over the world, share projects and, above all, see first-hand the continued interest in Naturpiedra Phyllite when it is presented through quality, expertise and real application possibilities.
Marmomac 2026 closed with more than 1,300 exhibiting companies, 50,000 trade professionals from 132 countries and 63% international visitors, consolidating its position as one of the world’s leading meeting points for the entire natural stone value chain.
NATURPIEDRA PHYLLITE TAKES CENTER STAGE IN VERONA
Our space in Hall 12, stand C4-D4g, focused particularly on one of the materials that best represents our identity: Naturpiedra Phyllite from Bernardos (Segovia). Naturpiedra can proudly claim to have been the only quarry presenting this noble and exclusive material among the nearly 1,300 exhibitors.
We presented different formats, finishes and textures for both wall cladding and flooring, showcasing the possibilities of a stone that combines the inherent characteristics of a natural material with great adaptability to contemporary projects.
One of the new features we presented this year was the addition of the Cordillera finish to our Naturpiedra Phyllite range, which impressed visitors by highlighting its characteristic quartz veining and almost-black colour.
The interest of the many international visitors focused on two milestones that reinforce the prestige and sustainability of Naturpiedra Phyllite, extracted and processed at Naturpiedra’s facilities in Bernardos (Segovia):
- The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), approved by AENOR at the end of 2022, certifies that Phyllite has a very low environmental impact throughout its life cycle. This recognition makes it an ideal option for sustainable construction, contributing to LEED, BREEAM and VERDE certification.
- The recognition of Bernardos Phyllite by the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS) as a World Heritage Stone, a distinction it shares with only 69 stones worldwide. This recognition highlights its quality, history and socioeconomic importance, while promoting its long-term conservation.
The trade fair confirmed growing interest in materials with a distinctive identity, capable of bringing texture, depth and character to projects without compromising technical performance.
And this is precisely where Naturpiedra Phyllite has so much to offer.
a stone with origins, history and a present
At Marmomac, we also wanted to highlight something that is fundamental to us: the origin of the stone.
Our activity begins in our own quarries in Bernardos, where stone extraction is part of a centuries-old tradition. From there, we control the transformation and processing stages, developing different formats and finishes to meet the needs of each project.
This integration of quarrying, manufacturing, supply and installation allows us to approach stone not simply as a product, but as a complete solution.
This is particularly important when working with international professionals, who increasingly seek suppliers able to provide security, consistency of supply, technical expertise and adaptability.
FROM FLOORING TO LANSCAPING: A STONE FOR DIFFERENT APPLICATIONS
Although Phyllite was one of the main highlights of our stand, Marmomac also allowed us to present other Naturpiedra solutions.
We showcased applications for:
- Interior and exterior flooring and wall cladding.
- Gardens and landscaping projects.
- Pool areas and outdoor spaces.
- Façades and architectural projects.
- Custom-made pieces and bespoke work.
- Roofing solutions.
- Different formats, thicknesses and finishes.
This diversity reflects one of Naturpiedra’s characteristics: working with natural stone from a comprehensive perspective, seeking the right solution for each project rather than simply marketing a particular product reference.
a trade fair for listening to the market
One of the most interesting aspects of Marmomac is not only what companies present, but also what happens around the products.
The conversations held over these days have enabled us to better understand the needs of different markets and identify trends that directly affect our work.
Architects, distributors, landscape professionals and specialised professionals are looking for materials with a distinctive identity, but they also need concrete answers: formats, finishes, thicknesses, availability, technical documentation, samples, logistics and manufacturing capacity.
Naturpiedra Phyllite has enormous potential, but for that potential to become real projects, it needs to be supported by knowledge and service.
That is precisely the model Naturpiedra has been working on for years.
THE IMPORTANCE OF SEEING AND TOUCHING THE STONE
In an increasingly digital industry, Marmomac once again demonstrates the value of something as simple as seeing and touching the material.
A photograph does not always allow you to appreciate the texture of a finish, the depth of a surface, the natural variation of a colour or the way light interacts with a stone.
That is why we consider it particularly important to attend this type of event with physical samples and different finishes that allow professionals to discover the material’s real possibilities.
In our case, showing Naturpiedra Phyllite across different surfaces and applications makes it easier to understand why the same stone can take on very different appearances depending on the finish, format and installation method.
SPANISH NATURAL STONE ON THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE
Naturpiedra’s participation in Marmomac is also part of our objective of continuing to develop our international presence.
Collaboration with ICE Castilla y León has also allowed us to share space with other companies from the region and strengthen the presence of natural stone from Castilla y León at a leading international event.
Marmomac brings together the entire natural stone value chain, from extraction and blocks to finished products, technology, design and architecture.
Thank you for visiting us
We would like to thank all the customers, professionals, partners and friends who visited our stand during these four days.
Every conversation, every enquiry and every project shared helps us continue learning and improving our offering.
We leave Verona with new contacts, new ideas and, above all, confirmation that there is an ever-growing space for a natural stone with origins, character and expertise behind it.
See you at Marmomac 2027.
