Stone masonry wall
Natural stone masonry walls or cladding are formed by the superimposition of masonry, generally thick, with a natural finish on all its edges and surfaces. The most common bonding material is received with lime mortar or cement.
Depending on its placement and external appearance, masonry is divided into various types. The most commonly used are:
Dry-laid masonry: The masonry is worked to fit together as closely as possible, so that no mortar is visible between the joints. The mortar is usually applied to the back of the masonry, although it can also be done completely dry, without any mortar, wedging and working the stone perfectly.
Ordinary masonry: The masonry is laid with mortar, leaving a mortar joint between them. The surface of the stone is natural.
Faced masonry: As with ordinary masonry, the masonry is laid with mortar and with a joint, but the outer face of the stone is carved.
Masonry in concert: The masonry is also laid with mortar and generally with a joint, but it differs from the other types in that the perimeter shape of each masonry is carved with a rectangular or square appearance.
