ARCO VIP ROOM 2022

Daniel Guerra de la Vega from the Burgo & Garrido Arquitectos studio designed an installation for the ARCO VIP room where Phyllite naturpiedra blocks are the protagonists. An ephemeral space that could be visited from February 23 to 27, 2022, during the celebration of the most important contemporary art fair in Spain.

The installation does without architecture, but constructs a space. The set of rocks creates an unusual and ephemeral topography, which nevertheless is exposed almost like a monument to disappearance. Its presence in the place activates the memory of another landscape. The one that we do not know, but that we are able to evoke.

These monoliths have created a natural and sculptural environment, arid and at the same time full of personality, offering with their varied shapes, textures and tones, a unique space that only the "natural" can recreate. A space that welcomed the general public of Arco, who filled it with life, transforming it into an improvised oasis, where the large blocks used as street furniture, took center stage.
